The Department of Theater is launching a crowd-sourced world premier original play, 2020(hindsight)!
CWRU Students are invited to write personal essays for a live Zoom performance November 12-15th. We are currently looking for 10-20 short autobiographical pieces about your mindset/experience during the Covid-19 pandemic. These pieces can explore a variety of topics, including but not limited to your experiences during quarantine, Black Lives Matter, Pride Month, and/or coming back to a socially distanced CWRU campus. Writers and performers are welcome, as well as writers who would like someone else to perform their pieces.
Feel free to explore story-telling genres. Essays, poems, videos, songs, and experimental pieces are all encouraged. Please submit all pieces through our Canvas site by September 30th. Performers will need to audition over Zoom October 12-14th. Visit our Canvas page for contact info, guidelines, and more details on how to get involved. Essays will be co-edited and curated to create a cohesive theatrical experience.
We hope you will share your experiences and join us in this virtual production. We can, have, and will adapt to the challenges of this year and make the most out of where we are!
We’re want to hear your voice and share your creative spirit!
