Smithsonian Internships – Spring Deadlines

Each year, the Smithsonian offers some of the country’s best internships in the public humanities. There are positions available at virtually all of their archives, galleries, and museums.

This year, some of thee highlights include jobs at:

  • The Air & Space Museum
  • The Sackler Gallery
  • The National Museum of African American History and Culture
  • The National Museum of the American Indian
  • The National Portrait Gallery
  • The enter for Folklife and Cultural Heritage
  • and more

Many of these offer spring internships, which require you to submit your application during the next few weeks. There will also be hundreds of summer Smithsonian Internships, with various deadlines from January through March.

What’s the best way to land an internship with the Smithsonian? By planning ahead! Start browsing these internships now. Speak with your faculty advisor(s). Begin assembling your application materials. And reach out to the Smithsonian staff if you have any questions.
