Khalil Gibran Muhammad, widely known as one of the most influential authorities on racial justice in America, will headline the 2020 MLK Convocation on Friday, January 17 at 12:45 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom. Muhammad is Professor of History, Race, and Public Policy at Harvard University. His work was recently featured in the New York Times’ landmark 1619 Project, and his award-winning publications include the book The Condemnation of Blackness: Race Crime, and the Making of Modern America. Muhammad’s visit is organized by the Office of University Events as part of CWRU’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. The 2020 CWRU MLK theme is “North Star: Illuminating the Path to Change.”
