This panel features four guests sharing their experiences as museum professionals working with some of the world’s most interesting and influential museum collections, right here in Cleveland’s University Circle. Learn more about work in museums, from conservation to creative design to managing collections to community partnerships. A buffet dinner will be served.

This panel features two guests sharing their experience working in government, in general, and in the U.S. State Department, in particular. Learn more about careers serving government abroad and at home, from managing trade relations to serving embassies at home and abroad.

Gaurav Bansal is a Trade Officer at the U.S. Department of State, where he has held a number of roles managing U.S. economic relationships with countries in East and Southeast Asia. Education: BS/BA, Electrical Engineering & History (Case Western Reserve University); MIA, International Economics and Finance (Columbia University)

Julie Stufft is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Visa Services in the Bureau of Consular Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. She is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Minister-Counselor and has previously served as Deputy Chief of Mission in the U.S. Embassies in Moldova and in Djibouti, as well as serving in the National Security Council, Russia, Ethiopia, and Poland, and in the State Department Operations Center. Education: BA, International Studies & Asian Studies (Case Western Reserve University); BS, Management (Case Western Reserve University); MA, Global Natural Resources (Duke University).

This panel will include Cleveland area writing professionals who will discuss how studying the humanities impacted their careers.  They will also answer questions from the audience.  Panelist include:

KAREN LONG, Manager of the Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards, Cleveland Foundation. Majored in Communications and Political Science.

ZACHARY THOMAS, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Writers in Residence, a nonprofit organization that teaches creative writing to youth who are incarcerated to empower their voices and assist in their re-entry into society. Majored in Creative and Professional Writing and Literature.

KATHARINE TROSTEL, chair and associate professor of English at Ursuline College. Majored in English and Anthropology.

VALENTINO ZULLO, Assistant professor of English and Anisfield-Wolf Fellow at Ursuline College. Majored in English Language and Literature/Letters.
