Theater at MOCA: #We Are Stokes

Over this past summer, students from Tri-C and CWRU worked with faculty to study the life of former Cleveland mayor Carl B. Stokes, the first black mayor in the United States. The students will take what they have learned and their own experiences in Cleveland to present poetry, monologues, scenes, music, and multi-media presentations in their 9/27 performance, directed by Jimmie Woody.

This will be a great opportunity for members of the CWRU and Tri-C community to learn more about a key figure in Cleveland’s history from our students’ perspectives. The performance is free and open to the public.
