The Center offers support for research and critical inquiry in the humanities through research working group seminars. These seminars, to be organized on the semester model, will be composed of faculty and graduate students in the arts and humanities of the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University.
The research group should have a targeted question or theme and be interdisciplinary in composition. Groups that duplicate, in the majority, the composition of any one department are not eligible.
Funds should be expended between August 15 & December 15, 2012. Final reports will be due on December 15, 2012 and should include the names and institutional affiliations of all participants.
To apply, please assemble the following information and send it the address below.
» Cover sheet completed by the seminar moderator; co-moderators are permitted. This cover sheet should include the names of the core organizing participants (at least 4), including department, institution, and status (e.g. 1st year Ph.D. student, full-time faculty).
» Core organizing participants must submit a brief statement of commitment to participate in the seminar.
» Statement of research theme or questions. This abstract should be no more than one page and should be written by the seminar moderator or co-moderators.
» Statement of research objectives and description of the work to be undertaken by the group (no more than one page in length).
» Intended budget. Please note that funds up to $2000 are available.
