While the awards will be granted only for those activities that further the teaching mission of UCITE and the university, this requirement will be interpreted broadly rather than narrowly, including but not limited to such things as funding the modest needs of courses, to attend a conference on teaching, to invite speakers, for seed money to obtain external funds, or for ambitious large-scale projects. Proposals that can demonstrate direct benefits to student learning are preferred, though indirect benefits via faculty development and enriching experiences will also be considered.
